University of the Rockies was founded as the Colorado School of Professional Psychology in 1998. After the school was purchased by Bridgepoint Education in 2007, the name was changed to University of the Rockies, a private, independent Graduate School.

For students seeking a degree in applied psychology, University of the Rockies has a lot to offer. The university boasts that “upon completion, you’ll be well-prepared for a successful career in the psychology field”. Graduate certificates are available in Business Psychology and General Psychology.
Graduate degrees are available in many areas of psychology as well. University of the Rockies online Master’s degree can be finished in 18-20 months while the Doctorate degree can be completed in a little more than three years. Online classes run on a continuous cycle and don’t follow a semester format. Classes can be taken one at a time or together.
Online classes can be accessed by students at any time. Students can expect to communicate with instructors and fellow students, read assigned coursework and post assignments and comment on other student’s work. This all takes place in an online format.
University of the Rockies is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission and is a member of North Central Association. The university is also an associate member of the National Council of Schools and Programs of Professional Psychology.
