Liberty University, founded in 1971 by Dr. Jerry Falwell Sr., is a private, co-educational, Christian Evangelical university located in Lynchburg, Virginia. Liberty has a 6,000-acre campus with 5,000 sq. feet of facilities including 212 buildings and 155 classrooms.

Liberty offers more than 60 accredited programs of study with 177 undergraduate and 44 graduate areas of study in addition to 4 doctoral programs in counseling, education and divinity. Some of the schools and colleges include the School of Aeronautics, College of Arts & Sciences, School of Business, School of Education, and the School of Law.

Students interested in the field of psychology can pursue a program through Liberty’s Department of Psychology. Undergraduate studies include a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology with specializations in Human Development, Counseling, Clinical or Research, Human Services and Industrial/Organizational. An Associate’s of Arts in Psychology is also available with an optional specialization in Christian Counseling.    

Liberty offers on-campus living as well as online or blended course options. Small class sizes with a 23 to 1 student-to-professor ratio help maintain a personal approach to learning.
