Le Tourneau University
LeTourneau University was founded in 1946 as LeTourneau Technical Institute in Longview, Texas. It originally educated only male students but in 1961 became a co-educational four-year school. LeTourneau is an interdenominational, evangelical Christian university that offers two and four-year degrees. The Longview main campus consists of 162 acres.

LeTourneau currently has six schools including the School of Arts and Sciences, School of Aeronautical Science, School of Business, School of Education and Kinesiology, School of Engineering and Engineering Technology and School of Graduate and Professional Studies.
For students interested in pursuing the field of psychology, LeTourneau offers a Bachelor’s in Psychology degree. This degree can lead to a path in counseling, child development or other areas in the area of psychology. The degree is available at the Longview, Houston, Bedford, Dallas and Tyler campuses. For busy working adults, the degree is also offered online.
LeTourneau began offering classes for working adults in 1969 through what was called the LeTourneau Education for Adult Professionals (LEAP) program. Today LeTourneau offers the flexibility of evening and weekend classes at its educational centers in five locations.
LeTourneau’s online accelerated program allows students to complete one online course at a time. Each course lasts anywhere from three to seven weeks. The chosen degree or certification can be completed in two years or less and coursework can be completed anytime, anywhere a student chooses. Students never need to attend class on-campus but there are certain technology requirements that are required.
LeTourneau is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The online education was recognized as fifth in the nation by the Online Education Database. LeTourneau boasts small class sizes and hands-on learning opportunities with programs delivered from a Christian perspective. Students come from nearly all 50 states, 20 foreign countries and more than 45 various denominational groups.
