Golden Gate University

Golden Gate University was founded in 1901 in San Francisco. It initially offered an evening law school with a student body of four. Currently there are approximately 5,000 students enrolled at Golden Gate. There are locations in Seattle and throughout California including Silicon Valley and Los Angeles.

Golden Gate offers a CyberCampus available to students who maintain a busy schedule, allowing them to work while earning a college degree. The university mainly offers degrees in the business sector, allowing students to gain employment in a volatile marketplace. The courses allow students to learn by gaining skills in a real-world business setting. The School of Taxation at Golden Gate is one of the most respected in the nation and allows students to gain practical, hands-on business experience through specialized internship programs. 

For students interested in the field of psychology, Golden Gate offers a Master of Arts in Psychology degree with concentrations in Counseling, Industrial/Organizational Psychology and Marriage and Family Therapy.  There are also combined concentrations including Counseling and Industrial/Organizational Psychology as well as Industrial/Organization Psychology and Marriage and Family Therapy.

Golden Gate also offers a graduate certificate in Applied Psychology with an area of expertise in either Industrial/Organizational Psychology or Counseling Psychology. The certificate may be earned by students completing at least five courses with a B average or better. The courses must have a PSYCH prefix and be taken at Golden Gate University. 

The psychology program at Golden Gate is designed by psychologists currently practicing in the field. The program exposes students to a broad range of psychological thought and practice. This not only allows for a better understanding in the subject matter but also gives students the tools necessary to choose a career path that’s right for them. Golden Gate University is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
