Central Penn College

Central Penn College was first founded in 1881 as Pennsylvania Business College in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The college is a 35-acres private, residential co-educational college, with the Blue Mountains framing the background. Housing includes apartments, townhouses and accommodations for students with disabilities. There are degree offerings both on-campus as well as through distance learning courses. There are currently seven degrees that can be completed fully-online.

Central Pennsylvania operates under what they call “The Big Eight Philosophies”: Appearance – maintain a professional wardrobe for future success; Attendance – presence in the classroom is vital; Conduct – students are to conduct themselves in a lawful manner; Drug and Alcohol Use – not permitted; Grades – quality work is expected; Hands-on Education – this philosophy is embraced; Service/Community Service– is expected of students and Technology – is vital in today’s world.

Central Penn College’s main focus is on business-related courses and currently there are no degrees available for students interested in the field of applied psychology. Some of the typical degree offerings at Central Pennsylvania include Business Administration, Corporate Communications, Accounting and Criminal Justice.

The instructors at Central Pennsylvania are committed to the success of their students, serving as advisors and friends. This is possible because of the small class sizes. There are also Immersion (Study Abroad) programs available, allowing students to explore the world while earning academic credits. Some past destinations have included Australia, England, Ireland, Italy, Japan and Scotland. College faculty members accompany students on their journeys. 

There are various student clubs available that help students develop necessary leadership skills and boost the look of resumes. Central Penn College is located close to the hustle and bustle of Harrisburg, providing shopping, sports, theaters, and theme parks. The Dutch Amish Country is woven into the history of Harrisburg and Hersheypark along with the National Civil War Museum are steps away.
