Bethel University currently has programs in four schools: the College of Arts and Sciences, College of Adult and Professional Studies, Graduate School and Bethel Seminary. Currently there are over 100 degree options and enrollment remains at about 6,000 students. Both minors and majors in psychology are available at Bethel.
Those seeking a degree in psychology will study how the human mind works while relating Christian perspectives to current psychology methods. Students will learn about the theory and history of psychology, research techniques and the principles of cognition and behavior. Students can pursue a stand-alone major or couple their major with studies in various fields. A mandatory internship is completed at local counseling centers, hospitals, corporations, ministries or related settings. Many students also fit a study abroad program into their education. Offering more than 30 destinations abroad, the study abroad program allows students to achieve a broader view of what is happening in the world around them.
For those looking to pursue a degree in applied psychology, the graduate school at Bethel University offers students a Master’s in Counseling Psychology. Currently there are no doctorate programs in psychology at Bethel University.
Bethel University strives to maintain a sense of community while upholding its core values which include being Christ-followers, character-builders, learners, truth-seekers, world-changers, and reconcilers. Bethel remains committed to the vision of its founder, “to develop broadly educated, critically thinking Christians – changing the world through service and leadership in Christ’s name”.
