Baker College Online is part of Baker College, one of the largest private colleges in Michigan. Baker College serves over 43,000 students worldwide and offers more than 40 certificate, Associate’s, Bachelor’s, Master’s and doctoral programs in various fields of study. Baker College Online was one of the first colleges to begin offering online education. Baker offers a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology degree that is a one-hundred percent online program. The undergraduate psychology degree conforms to the standards set forth by the American Psychological Association’s Board of Education Task Force.
The Psychology program focuses on mental processes and behavior that can be useful in several professions and careers. The knowledge, skills and values presented are parallel with the science and application of psychology. Currently there are no Master’s or doctoral programs available in Psychology at Baker College Online.
The classrooms at Baker Online are accessible to students 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This allows for a very flexible program where classes can be taken anywhere at any time. There are no mandatory attendance times. Courses begin and end on specific dates – typically lasting about six weeks long. All class work has assigned deadlines and courses require a lot of reading. Each course has a term paper and/or final exam due upon completion.
The only requirements for a successful program at Baker College Online is a PC that meets the technical requirements specified, the ability to load software, and knowledge about word processing programs such as Microsoft Word. Class discussion is also vital to success in Baker’s online courses and contributes to a student’s overall grade. Students are required to participate in class discussions at least 5 out of 7 days each week.
