Argosy University was formed in 2001 with the merging of three institutions; the American School of Professional Psychology, the University of Sarasota and the Medical Institute of Minnesota. Argosy University currently consists of four colleges within 19 campus locations in the U.S. Argosy University Online offers degree programs through their Phoenix campus.

Through the College of Psychology and Behavioral Sciences, Argosy University Online offers five degrees. The two doctorate degrees include Doctor of Education in Counseling Psychology and Doctor of Education in Pastoral Community Counseling. The Master’s programs include Master’s of Arts in Forensic Psychology, Master’s of Arts in Industrial Organization Psychology and Master’s of Arts in Sport-Exercise Psychology.

Argosy University Online uses the strategies developed by Socrates Distance Learning Technologies Group® (Socrates), a forerunner in the world of online education. All staff providing online instruction to students has completed a minimum of 100 hours of training in the Socrates approach. This provides instructors with the skills and knowledge necessary to ensure students receive a successful online experience. Argosy University Online uses only Socrates Qualified instructors to lead their courses.

Argosy University Online students have 24/7 access to classes, allowing them to attend classes around their busy schedules. Lectures are informative and avoid the repetition of textbook reading.     

Argosy University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and belongs to the North Central Association. They maintain program accreditations in Psychology, Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology, and Master’s of Arts in Mental Health Counseling and Community Counseling. 

One key theme that runs through all Argosy University locations is the presence of students in the community.
