Students interested in the field of psychology will not find any course offerings at Algonquin. There are programs offered in one of three areas of study; travel, business and healthcare. Students seeking a program in a travel related field can expect to find work as corporate or leisure travel agents, as well as in the airline, hotels and referral agents industry. The program is 28 weeks in length including a two week co-op placement.
The Business & Law programs at Algonquin include programs in accounting and payroll, paralegal and online computer courses. Students completing a program in Business & Law can find work in accounting and payroll, as self-employed paralegals, and more.
The Healthcare programs include degrees in fitness and health promotion, medical lab assistant, medical office assistant, personal support worker and pharmacy technician. Students seeking a program through the healthcare program can expect to find work as fitness instructors, personal trainers, medical lab assistants, pharmacy technicians, nursing assistants and dental office assistants.
Algonquin is accredited in various fields and Associate’s with various partners and employers. This enables students to obtain real-world experience through non-paid programs. While working in these programs, students can apply what they’ve learned in the classroom, become confident in their abilities and gain potential future employment.
Algonquin Careers Academy also offers online courses in Travel Diploma Online and computer courses. Course materials are provided to students in the form of modules at the beginning of the session along with specific instructions. The lessons explain everything that is needed to complete the module. Modules can be purchased individually or all at once.
